CBD 101

What is CBD?

CBD, short for cannabidiol, is found in the cannabis plant. CBD is extracted from
industrial hemp and interacts with the body's endocannabinoid system. The cannabis plant
has been used for centuries by many cultures for its various health benefits.

CBD isn’t the only cannabinoid found in cannabis; in fact, over 100 cannabinoids have been discovered so far.  We are mainly focused on CBD, as it contains no psychoactive properties.

What does CBD do?

A 2015 review published in the Journal of the American Medical Association looked at 79 studies published since 1975. Researchers found CBD was most effective treating pain, muscle spasms, nausea, sleep disorders and reducing anxiety.

How does CBD work?

The cannabinoids in CBD work with your
body’s endocannabinoid system. The endocannabinoid system governs specific
areas of your physiology, like hunger, pain, stress and pleasure and is responsible for keeping your body in perfect balance.

The benefits of pain and stress relief from

CBD make it an excellent alternative to

over-the-counter drugs for many people.
